Wasting away again in Miamiheatville: The Gordon Hayward Story

hayward

Bleacher Report– The Miami Heat have reportedly emerged as the favorites to sign free-agent small forward Gordon Hayward, who spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Utah Jazz.

On Saturday, Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer provided the update on Hayward’s status. Based on O’Connor’s conversations with three sources, the reasons the Heat are in the driver’s seat for one of the top free agents include a “better lifestyle” and a “feature scoring role” for Hayward, as well as the opportunity to work with head coach Erik Spoelstra.

With the heat of the NBA free agency growing by the day, it seems ironic that the Miami Heat havent been in the typical conversation. Until now. Why havent they been in conversations? Well because they are irrelevant right now. They finished 41-41 last year and have no superstars to build a team around like every other competitive team seems to be doing right now. Hassan Whiteside and Dion Waiters are about the only 2 I know there that could possibly even help any other team. And is Chris Bosh still there? Has anyone even heard from Bosh in the last few years? oh well, maybe he went back to his home planet. On the other side of the talent spectrum we have Gordon Hayward who is very valuable and could help the Celtics or the Rockets close the gap. The gap being, of course, the front runners of the East & West the Warriors and the Cavs. If Hayward were to go to the Heat it might make them a little bit better but it wont do enough for them to be able to compete with the Cavs or the Celtics. It’s basically a waste of his talents if he goes to South Beach and with Paul George off the board the Celtics will have missed out on 2 big potential pickups that could allow them to take the next step past the Cavs, or at least get closer. This league is evolving into teams built with superstars that can feed off each other and Miami is not a budding place for that. As a fan of high scoring and competitive basketball, I really really hope he goes to the Celtics and if he can’t see why that would be the most ideal move then have fun putting up 25 points a game on a mediocre team that goes .500. -( . )

Possible NBA superteam being built in Cleveland?

With the crushing loss in this year’s NBA finals, it seems only fitting that the Cavaliers would go out immediately after and look to add another superstar like Paul George or Jimmy Butler. If they are going to be able to compete with them next year they are going to have to do exactly what they did and stack that lineup with as many threats as possible. Right now the Cavaliers are pretty lackluster in comparison to the Warriors when you see KD, Curry, Klay, Draymond, and Iggy I guess. So for them to add a threat, hopefully Butler rather than Paul George, would enable them to actually win more than one measly fucking game in the NBA finals. As good as Lebron is, and I believe he is one of the top 5 players to ever play the game already, he cannot carry a team in the league in today’s day and age. No one can. Curry has always had help. The Spurs are the Spurs. Dirk had help and as did Kobe. Its just the way it goes, and yes they have Kyrie Irving but Kevin Love is washed up and a wildly inconsistent shooter to consider one of your “Big 3”. So you’re left with JR who seems to show up when he wants to and I cant help but root for you regardless and Tristan Thompson. Thompson can be an absolute beast down low so as a big man I dont mind him at the 5. With all of these thoughts swirling I can’t stop myself from picturing the scoring frenzy that could occur with a starting lineup of; Kyrie Irving, JR Smith, Jimmy Butler, LeBron James, and Tristan Thompson…damn. Maybe over/under for round 4 in the 2018 NBA Finals of 280? 285? It could be very interesting to see how the Cavaliers make their trades but I know K Love is gone and a can’t help but hope the door hits him on the way out. Hopefully next they can work on not having fucking Deron Williams and Richard Jefferson out there in the 4th quarter of a game 5, win or go home game. Just a crazy fucking thought I had. This could be the super team that LeBron needs to finally win another title because as we all know and as he stated he’s never really played for a super team, not even in Miami! I know! I thought that was a superteam too but apparently not. Not even Cleveland was considered one. Now I hate the Warriors even more for inventing the damn super teams! But now King James can make a run and finally get back the title, there is hope in this world. I don’t know about you but I’m fired up to see what next for the NBA. -( . )

Cavaliers actually playing like shit on purpose

Cavaliers Versus Celtics in the NBA Playoffs

The Cleveland Cavaliers are one the best teams in the NBA and while going undefeated through 2 rounds, the Celtics happened to stun them in game 3. Now as game 4 progresses, Lebron James sits out the last 7 minutes with 4 fouls and the Celtics go into the half with the fucking lead, up 10. Now the Cavaliers look like GARBAGE. Straight up useless, well besides Kyrie who is doing everything he can to get a foul and get some points on the board. And somehow Kevin Love is still managing to get the ball passed to him as he continues to fucking brick 3s but I digress. I think there besides this shitty play, win or lose this game, the Cavs will still win the series but with playing so poorly they will go into the Finals big underdogs. At this point, the playoff Bron Bron resumes form and Kyrie does his thing and they take down goliath in an epic fashion yet again. Everyone will be bumming on the Cavs cause they could barely sneak past the C’s and to come back to win the Finals would just solidify their place, as well as Lebron’s personal status, in history. Genius. You heard it here first folks. Cavs in 7, both rounds. -( . )
